End User Licence Agreement

This End User Licence Agreement covers the Trace scanner, the program a server's staff ask a player to run (trace-scanner.exe). By running the scanner, you accept it.

The licence

1. Trace gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to run the scanner on your own computer, when a server using Trace asks you to.
2. The scanner is licensed, not sold. Trace keeps all rights in it.

What the scanner does

While FiveM is open, the scanner reads the items below, uploads one report to the server that asked for it, and exits. Nothing stays installed.

• Names, paths and hashes of resources loaded by FiveM
• Hashes of FiveM and CitizenFX client files
• Process names and module lists for processes attached to FiveM
• Game build number and scanner version
• Windows execution records for the scanned session (Prefetch and Amcache), to show when a flagged binary ran

It never touches:

• Browser data, cookies and saved passwords
• Your documents, downloads and any file outside FiveM and the execution records above
• Screen, webcam, microphone and clipboard
• Keystrokes and the memory of unrelated programs
• Network traffic other than one upload of the finished report

How that report is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

You may not

1. Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or modify the scanner, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.
2. Tamper with a scan, interrupt it to change the result, or feed it spoofed data.
3. Copy, redistribute, re-upload, sell or share the scanner. Get it only from Trace or from the staff who asked you to run it.
4. Use the scanner to break any law or anyone else's rights.

Verifying your copy

Every build is code-signed, and its SHA-256 is published on Verifying the scanner. Don't run a copy whose hash or signature doesn't match.

No warranty

1. The scanner is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
2. Decisions made using a report, including bans, are the server's, not Trace's.
3. To the extent the law allows, Trace is not liable for indirect or consequential loss from running the scanner.

Ending the licence

The licence ends automatically if you break this agreement. When it ends, stop using the scanner and delete any copies.
